Fate of the Sri Lankan team and Sourav Ganguly !!!
Sri Lanka's narrow defeat at the hands of President's XI in the warm-up tie has exposed chinks in their armour. Although the responsible people are saying not to take too much from this. It's a golden chance to let team india shine.
Sourav Ganguly, the greetest south paw betsman of Indian cricket history, what has happens to you. Sourav Ganguly has once himself said he must be the most hated captain in the history of indian cricket. Some days ago some people has started a site named as ihateganguly. This is completely bad thing to Indian cricket. Experts feel he is not a good captain, Indian fans do not like his harsh nature and everyone agrees he is rude, arrogant and overconfident. Greg Chappell of course feels Sourav is "mentally and physically unfit to lead India" but Ganguly refuses to change, he refuses to fade. So what makes him tick? Why do so many people hate him despite a brilliant captaincy record. Also in my view he is one of the greatest batsman I have ever seen. Ganguly please come back at least I am with you!!

He did make a few runs this time around. But I never liked the bugger.
In his autobiography Nasser Hussein criticised Mike Gatting for arguing against the selection of Graham Thorpe with the words "what apart from runs does he bring to the party." Hussein's argument was no doubt the same as Ganguly's: "what apart from runs does a batsman need to bring to the party."
Arguably the greatest selection blunder made by England in recent years was the decision to curtail David Gower's career because the management decided he was difficlt to manage.
I'd select Ganguly.
Ganguly should be worshipped
In my opinion Ganguly should be worshipped by all Indians.
He is a kind of batsman, criketer, captain and human being that everybody should look up to. I do not know why he is being left out of the Indian side but I definitely believe that the current team should be called Chappel XI and not the Indian cricket team.
Why he is different?
1) The AGGRESSION makes him different from the Shastris, Gavaskars and the Kapils. Tendulkar may have the aggression to hit a six but he does not have the aggression to look into Ricky Ponting's eyes and speak about the Indian team.
2) He went to bat at number 4 in order to accommodate Sehwag in the Indian team.
3) And who can forget that the current captain of the Indian team would have been dropped if this "poor ill mannered" ganguly did not make him the batsman wicketkeeper of the side.
4) He has always backed the youngsters like Yuvraj, Kaif, Zaheer, Nehra, Harbhajan .... What an irony. Now these guys are saying that they are happy without Ganguly.
5) The number of runs he has scored is just phenomenal.
Hey Ganguly, I have one advice for you. Never ever trust these guys.
I would like to conclude by saying that I can see him going in the field for the first toss of the World Cup in 2007.
